COLOUR PALETTE POUT

L I P S T I C K  L U S T

I've been lusting after Lime Crime make-up (lipsticks in particular) for a while now, but could never bring myself to pay the overseas shipping just in case of the daring shades looking ridiculous on my skin tone. Even though I've never heard or seen a negative review on any Lime Crime make-up I was worried their opaque coloured lipsticks would look silly against my strange pale/yellow skin tone & forever-changing hair colour.

I stumbled across Cocktail Cosmetics website and found they were UK based and they sold Lime Crime make-up (yay!!!!), there was still a postage charge but £11.50 for a beautiful lipstick was something I wasn't going to miss. You can access their range of Lime Crime make-up by clicking HERE. I soon added 'Airbourne Unicorn' and 'Chinchilla' colour lipsticks to my basket and proceeded to the checkout.

Even though I was happy with the price & shipping I was still determined to get them for cheaper (or any kind of discount being a student),  so I did some research and found THIS WEBSITE where you can get discount/free shipping codes for Cocktail Cosmetics, I cannot remember exactly what one I used but each lipstick ended up being just £10 each, bargain!

R E V I E W

Firstly the delivery time was super quick, I waited three days and it was first class signed delivery, they came in a little flat white cardboard box, and when I opened it my lipsticks were delicately placed in a see of black curly tissue paper, so bravo to Cocktail Cosmetics for good delivery service.

The Lime Crime packaging was just a beautiful and magical as I had anticipated, stunning lilac boxes with inner-avocado green insides, not to mention the signature silver unicorn on the outside!

Equally as beautifully executed as the boxes were the lipsticks themselves. Holographic unicorns dance on the lipstick tube, soooooo lovely. The smell of the lipsticks are identical to that of MAC lipsticks, which is a very good sign of a long-wearing lipstick. The colours were just like they are on the Lime Crime website, true to life in the flesh as they are on the skin and on the internet, which is super hard to find! I applied only two coats of the Chinchilla colour and it made for very opaque and bold colour & coverage (picture shown above).

Definitely go and buy some! They really won't let you down.

Love, Lily x

REPAIR REINFORCEMENT

My hair was in urgent need of some life support, but I didn't want to spend a fortune on Kerastase products online when I didn't know what would be best suited for me. Kerastase are globally known for their life-changing effect on hair (so I would highly recommend trying some if you haven't already/ can afford it), but it's not globally known that they are part of the L'oreal company.
So I went out and bought some of L'oreal's 'HAIR EXPERTISE EVERPURE' range, and it has literally worked wonders after one wash. (and no they are not paying me to write this!)
I am a firm believer in changing your brand/type of shampoo/conditioner & hair treatments once you've run out of it, but once I run out of this, i'll be buying some different products but in the same range.
Currently 3 for £12 in Boots these products in the Hair Expertise EverPure range usually retail for £7-9 each, so it really is a bargain. I purchased their Colour Care & Moisture Shampoo, Colour Care & Soothing Conditioner and finally the amazing Colour Care Intense 5 Minute Mask. < I've included links to each product so you can read more about them and see if they are right for you.

After one wash and one treatment, my over-dyed, over-worked hair feels flexible, smoothed, silky but very clean, which is usually hard to find a hair product that cleans, cleanses but doesn't produce a greasy build up!
If you don't have coloured hair they have two other types in this range which will give your hair a kiss of life! Let me know what you think!

WHITE&BLACK FIX

I will apologise in advance now for all of my blog posts being mainly in black and white. I love simplicity and white and black make that cut.
I composed a quick board of these affordable monochrome fixes which look like they belong on the catwalk as opposed to on the highstreet.

'SILVER BAG' by Weekday - Ironically named this black patent bag by Weekday is just so perfect. The folds, the straps, the material, not too big and not too small. For £23 you can't go wrong.

'LILLY SUNGLASSES' by Monki - I have these sunglasses, I bought them in London a couple of weekends ago and I can honestly say it was the best £8 i've ever spent. They have a black matte finish too them which contrasts so well to the grey gloss of the lenses. The thick arms of them make them sturdy and more bold. They are also available in beige or bright pink if you want more of a bold statement!  (image to the right is me using my sunglasses more like a headband)

'KATE KNIT' by Monki - This wondrous white knit is perfect for this season, especially when you don't want a heavy knit but wish to have your arms covered up. It is also ideal for layering over the top of a midi or maxi skirt or dress. The drawstring detail is so simple and beautiful, it is also key for creating a more flattering shape in a jumper. As Monki themselves state about this jumper "It's all about the drawstring, that gleaming silver cord with a single silver bead, like a necklace at the wrong end of the jumper."

THE MONOCHROME BOOT

My second post and my second shoe post! H&M seem to be really hitting the nail on the head with their SS13 shoes this year. Comfortable, on trend and practical, these monochrome platform, peep-toe boots are a perfect addition to anyones wardrobe for this season.Teamed with fishnet socks (available from Primark for £1.50) or worn barefoot with silver or white nail polish, makes these shoe-boots look expensive, a
bit similar to the shoes previewed in the Stella Mccartney AW13 collection. (shown below)

You can now purchase these shoe-boots on the H&M website here. I also found a voucher code online which you can enter in at the check out to get 25% off these boots (or any item of your choice) to get the voucher code click here.

THE FUNCTIONAL FLATFORM

Keeping in with the monochrome trend this season, these flatforms from H&M are perfect for the spring to summer change over. At £24.99 they are very reasonable price for the quality, wet-look black material and foam, corrugated platform.
They have a velcro ankle fastening and additional velcro strap at the toes (this can be adjusted but is more for style visual). I've been teaming mine with mesh white socks or printed cat socks from Topshop; a cheaper alternate to these are my unicorn print ones from Primark for only £2.
